Luther Hudson Chevrolet is here to stay Luther Hudson Chevrolet received a letter from the reorganized General Motors corporation on Tuesday confirming that the local dealership will continue to sell its vehicles. "We're in like flint. We're dealers for sure," General Manager Tim Jubie said in a call to the Star-Observer. The letter from GM arrived by Fed Ex a day after the automaker announced that it reorganizing under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Sales Manager Charlie Ellefson, who joined Jubie in the conference call, said the letter announced that Luther Hudson Chevrolet had been identified as one of GM's "key dealers for Chevrolet and GMC truck brands." "We'd just like the thank the community for its support," Ellefson said. "Our employees are very grateful." Luther Hudson Chevrolet employs 55 full-time workers. Hudson Chrysler, also owned by the Luther Automotive Group, has a full-time staff of 40 people. Chrysler Corp. assured the Hudson dealership of its continued operation about a month ago. "It's good for the community. It certainly is," Ellefson said of the news.
