• Hudson -- Man sentenced in St. Joe, Somerset burglary case
• North Hudson to consider Northpoint liquor license

A man has been convicted and another apparently reached an agreement in a burglar case stemming from incidents last fall in the Somerset area and the town of St. Joseph.

Mitchell David Gonsior, 20, 327 N. Third St., New Richmond, was convicted of one felony count of burglary last Thursday (Jan. 7).

Matthew Richard Campeau, 22, New Richmond, 2017 124th St., New Richmond, was scheduled for a plea hearing Jan 20 on similar charges in connection with the same incidents.

Court records said during a status conference last Friday, Campeau and the prosecution had reached an agreement on the matter.

Judge Eric J. Lundell ordered a pre-sentence investigation for Gonsior and a review of the case was scheduled for March 19.

Nine counts including theft, entering a locked car, burglary and criminal damage were read into the record for restitution and dismissed.

Charges of theft and receiving stolen property from a separate case were read into the record for restitution and dismissed.

The charges stemmed from the investigation of a string of car and home break-ins and thefts in September and October.

The criminal complaint said on Oct. 14 two men and a girl were taken into custody and sheriff's deputies conducted a search warrant on a Somerset residence where Campeau and Genna Marie Kristiansen, 17, Somerset, lived and discovered a number of stolen items.

Kristiansen, who was charged with one felony count of receiving stolen property, is scheduled for a status conference Feb. 8.

The North Hudson Board of Trustees has scheduled a special meeting for 8 a.m. Friday to discuss the fate of a liquor license at a defunct business in the village.

The trustees will review a complaint filed by resident Bill Radosevich against the Northpoint Bar and Grill, 501 Sixth St. N. charging the business wasn't in compliance with certain state liquor license requirements.

The business has been out of operation since Aug. 17 when some unsuspecting would-be customers arrived at the establishment to find the doors locked.

The village sent out an announcement that listed, "hearing to consider resident complaint regarding possible revocation of a Class B retail alcohol beverage license issued to Cabin NH, Inc.," as the single-item on the agenda.

Village officials said at least one individual has shown interest in applying for the license if it is revoked to establish a business at the same location.
