• Hudson -- Barker's employee charged with theft

Tracee D. Anderson, 28, of Hudson was charged Monday with a felony count of theft involving money she allegedly stole from her employer, Barker's Bar & Grill, 413 2nd St.

She began working at Barkers in September 2004 and worked until mid-December 2009. In the complaint, Barker's estimated the business was shorted in the neighborhood of $55,000. According to the complaint, Anderson told police during an interview on Dec. 18 that she may have taken about $5,000. She claimed she didn't think she was doing anything wrong because she believed the business was charging too much for its drinks.

Her first court appearance is scheduled Jan. 25. The charge has a maximum penalty of five years in prison.
