Funeral services slated for former NR mayor Former New Richmond Mayor Paul Swenby has died. Over the past 50 years, Swenby has been active in community affairs. Swenby is a 1940 graduate of New Richmond High School. For many years he owned and operated Swenby Insurance in downtown New Richmond. Swenby had suffered for years with a degenerative muscle disease, but could always be found navigating downtown streets on his way to and from coffee at various cafes. He is survived by his wife, Colleen, and a son, Skip (Colorado). Visitation is on Sunday at St. Mary's School from 5-8 p.m. Burial is on Monday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation again preceding the burial service from 10-11 a.m. For a complete obituary, see next week's New Richmond News.
