• Kind speaks Monday in Hudson on small business funding

HUDSON -- Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.) will speak 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 6, at the St. Croix County Government Center in Hudson about the funding available to small business through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Besides providing economic stimulus through investments in infrastructure, education and tax relief, the ARRA provides funding and assistance through the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program.

Eric Ness, State Director of the Small Business Administration, and Jeff Hudson, from the USDA Rural Development, will share the podium with Kind, who will review business-related provisions in the ARRA.

SBA typically defines small business as a for-profit enterprise with 1,000 or less employees depending on the industry or with a certain annual revenue by industry.
