Six hurt in serious Pierce County crash

Four Prescott teenagers were airlifted from a late Saturday morning two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 10 at the intersection with County Road QQ in the town of Oak Grove.

The teens were hurt when their southbound 1998 Chevy Cavalier entered the Hwy. 10 intersection and was struck by an eastbound 2003 Ford Expedition driven by a 65-year-old Forest Lake, Minn., man.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the following were taken by helicopters to trauma centers at Regions Hospital in St. Paul and Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis: Joshua R. Hanestad, 17 (the driver); Eric J. Glasner, 16; Kerary D. Spindler, 15; and Matthew M. Pechacek, 16.

Glasner and Spindler were described as critical.

Andris Kavis, 64, and Colleene Kavis, 63, both from Forest Lake, were taken from the scene by ambulance to River Falls Area Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Another Forest Lake couple, including the SUV driver, Dennis D. Johnson, were uninjured.

The State Patrol is still investigating the crash.
