• H1N1 Vaccine: First school-based clinic set in Glenwood City

The St. Croix County DHHS- Public Health Department, 1445 N. 4th Street, New Richmond, has scheduled upcoming vaccination clinics.

Upcoming H1N1 clinic dates include:

Thursday, December 3, 1-6 p.m. at the St. Croix County DHHS-Public Health Department.

Regular Immunization Walk-In Clinic, including H1N1 vaccination, Monday, Dec. 7, noon - 4 p.m. at the St. Croix County DHHS-Public Health office.

School-based Community H1N1 Clinic, Wednesday, Dec. 9, noon - 7 p.m. at the Glenwood City School, Commons Area. Students will be vaccinated from noon to 7 p.m. All other Glenwood City community members who are within the target populations are encouraged to attend from 3:30 -7 p.m.

The current supply of H1N1 vaccine is of two types: nasal and injectable.

The county is able to vaccinate the following:

Pregnant women

Persons who live with or provide care for children aged less than 6 months (e.g. parents, siblings and daycare providers)

All health care and emergency medical services personnel.

Children aged 6 months through 24 years, and

Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.

No appointments necessary and the H1N1 vaccine is free. The department has no seasonal flu vaccine, only H1N1 at this time.

St. Croix County Public Health is located at 1445 N 4th St in New Richmond. Take Hwy 65 N thru NR until you come to the intersection of Hwy 64 and 65, at the north end of town. Turn left, or west and continue on until you come to the second intersection, Cty Rd K. Turn R and proceed up the hill. The HHS Building is on the right. Enter in the front doors and signs will lead you to the Health Department.
