Driver dies in Sunday afternoon I-94 accident

The driver of a pickup truck died Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 94, just east of Menomonie.

According to Wisconsin State Patrol officials, the accident happened at around 2:39 p.m. near mile marker 47, which is two miles east of Dunn County Road B.

Officials say that the pickup truck was heading westbound on I-94 when it left the road and entered the median and then rolled over.

The driver was the only occupant of the truck and he was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders.

The name of the driver has not yet been released.

Minnesota man identified as victim in fatal I-94 accident

Wisconsin State Patrol officials have identified John Carlson, 46, Fergus Falls, Minn., as the victim of a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 94 Sunday afternoon.

State Patrol officials say the accident occurred at around 2:39 p.m. when Carlson was driving a pickup westbound on I-94 near mile marker 47, which is two miles east of Dunn County Road B.

Officials say that the pickup truck left the road, entered the median and then rolled over.

Carlson was the only occupant of the truck and was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. He was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders.
