Design project for new Menomonie airport terminal building gets funding The Menomonie Municipal Airport will be able to start design work on a new terminal building after getting funds from state, local and federal governments. The State of Wisconsin and City of Menomonie are throwing in $1,459 each while the Federal Aviation Administration is contributing $58,353. According to Kim Kaarto, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the new terminal building is needed to replace the undersized and poorly functioning existing building. The design is expected to be completed this summer, with construction to take place during the summer of 2009. Menomonie Municipal Airport has two runways. Currently, 23 aircraft are based at the airport, and approximately 13,550 take-offs and landings occur each year. Published 08:51 Jul-15-08 | TOP |
