• Three-car accident sends one to area hospital

A three-car accident Tuesday afternoon, just on the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River Bridge at Red Wing, Minn., sent one of the drivers to an area hospital.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, the accident occurred at 1:44 p.m. on Highway 63 at 825th St. in the Town of Trenton.

A vehicle driven by Sierra H. Ricci, 22, Hager City, who was traveling northbound on Highway 63, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Karisa L. Sorenson, 24, Red Wing. Sorenson was also northbound on Highway 63, attempting to make a left turn onto 825th St.

The collision forced Sorenson across the centerline of Highway 63, causing it to collide with a vehicle driven by Stacy L. Bauer, 25, Plum City, who was traveling southbound on Highway 63. The Bauer vehicle got hit in the driver's door.

Ricci was transported by Red Wing Ambulance to Fairview Red Wing Medical Center where she was treated and released.

Bauer was uninjured, while the Sheriff's Department said Sorenson wasn't transported by ambulance from the scene.

Also assisting the Sheriff's Department were the Ellsworth Fire Department. The Sheriff's Department added the accident remains under investigation.
