• Dunn County man dies when tractor overturns
• Teenager arrested for possession of drugs at Prescott High School

A 64-year-old Dunn County man died Saturday afternoon when the tractor he was riding overturned, trapping him beneath it.

Roger Hampton was pronounced dead at the scene by Dunn County Medical Examiner Barb Knopps around 12:30 p.m. in the town of Lucas.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Department said in a news release that it determined that Hampton was negotiating a steep gravel hill when the tractor overturned.

Mr. Hampton's funeral was today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie with the burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

PRESCOTT - The Prescott Police Department announces an investigation into alleged drug activity at Prescott Senior High School has resulted in an arrest of 17-year-old James Lindsay for alleged possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver at the Prescott Senior High School last Tuesday. The arrest was made as a result of an investigation initiated under the Police Department's Juvenile Crime Reduction Project, Chief of Police Mike R. Bondarenko announced.

Officers arrested Lindsay after he was allegedly in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance, believed to be marijuana, with intent to deliver at the high school. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail in Ellsworth. Lindsay was formally charged Thursday in Pierce County Circuit Court with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to sell THC.

The investigation also resulted in a referral to the Pierce County District's Attorney Office for possible charges of delivery of a controlled substance, believed to be a prescription medication, against an 18-year-old Prescott woman. It is alleged the delivery took place at the high school.

Delivery of a controlled substance is a felony in Wisconsin, and there is a penalty enhancement when such delivery occurs at a school.

A 15-year-old Prescott youth has also been cited in Prescott Municipal Court for possession of marijuana at the high school as part of the investigation.

"I am very proud of the officers who conducted this investigation as part of our Juvenile Crime Reduction Project," said Bondarenko. "They showed their dedication to keeping drugs out of our city, especially from our high school."

Bondarenko noted the investigation also involved school officials who worked in close cooperation with the police officers. "We want to send a very strong message that drugs will not be tolerated in our schools, and the Police Department would like to thank the high school staff for their excellent cooperation in this investigation," he said.

Names of the other two individuals were not released pending formal charges.
