Severe smoke damages Plum City home

PLUM CITY - No one was injured when a fire broke out Monday night, severely damaging a Plum City home.

The fire occurred at the house next to Grange Hall Auto, located near the intersection of US Highway 10 and County Highway CC.

Plum City Fire Chief Jamey King said the fire started around 7 p.m. and that the Fire Department was on scene for about 2½ hours. He added the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The house sustained severe smoke damage, which required Xcel Energy representatives to come and shut off power.

The property owner now lives in Arizona, King added. Plum City Fire was assisted at the scene by Plum City Ambulance and the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
