Body found on back waters of Mississippi

After almost seven months, the body of Robert More, 53, has been found.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department was notified 10:40 a.m. Sunday about human remains being found on an island south of Red Wing along the back waters of the Mississippi River.

Investigators traveled by boat approximately one mile downstream from the back channel bridge in the town of Trenton and discovered the remains. A search of the body revealed identification found in the pocket included a Minnesota driver's license. Other identification items were found as well. Dental records later confirmed it was More.

Sheriff's Investigator Doug Ducklow explained that a search of the area revealed that More had become lodged in debris on the island and that fellow Investigators along with individuals from the Medical Examiner's Office determined that no foul play occurred.

More disappeared March 28 when investigation determined that More slipped off his houseboat, which was docked at Mr. Sippi's and went overboard. Ducklow said that search efforts were unable to provide details into his disappearance and that searches throughout the months revealed no new clues into the disappearance.

Funeral arrangements are being determined. Goodhue County Water Patrol was also on scene with the Medical Examiner's Office and the Sheriff's Department.
