H1N1 community clinics set up in Pierce County next month

Pierce County Public Health Director Sue Galoff announced Monday that community H1N1 clinics have been set up in Ellsworth, Spring Valley, River Falls, Plum City and Prescott next month.

The clinics are available to anyone who wishes to receive the H1N1 vaccine. Galoff reminds the public that parents of children needing a second dose of H1N1 vaccine (any child under the age of 10) are encouraged to bring their child/children to these clinics also. Parents are also reminded that first and second vaccine doses must be separated by at least one month.

All clinics are walk-ins and are on a first come, first served basis. There will be no charge in receiving the vaccine.

Times and dates for the clinics are as follows: Monday, Jan. 11, 4-6 p.m. at Prescott High School Library. Thursday, Jan. 14, 3-5 p.m. at Plum City Senior Center. Monday, Jan. 18, 3:30-6 p.m. at River Falls Middle School Library. Thursday, Jan. 21, 4-6 p.m. at Spring Valley Middle/High School. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 4-6 p.m. at the Pierce County Public Health Office in Ellsworth.

An additional clinic has also been scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Public Health Office in Ellsworth.
