Opening new salon draws Minnesota couple to River Falls By Mary Field Hoa Tran decided to start her nail business, QT Nails, in River Falls because a friend told her this is a nice little town. Tran and her husband Hai, both Vietnamese natives who came to this country as children, had been giving manicures and pedicures at salons in Minnesota for about 10 years when they started thinking about starting their own nail business. "We were both going in different directions all the time," Hoa said. "Opening our own business seemed like a convenient way to work and spend more time together." The couple, who live in Maplewood, Minn., opened the doors of QT Nails, at 107 N. Main St., just north of Home Appliance, about three weeks ago. Both are licensed nail technicians in Wisconsin and Minnesota. They will do standard manicures and pedicures, apply artificial nails, as well as airbrushing designs or pictures on customers' nails.
