HEADLINES:
After fleeing deputy drivers found It appeared to a Dunn County deputy that two vehicles were racing near the intersection of 650th Street and 10 Avenue in the Town of Peru on Tuesday at around 6:43 p.m. But that wasn't the case. They were both allegedly just speeding. Officials with the Dunn County Sheriff's Department say that the deputy pursued the drivers, but ultimately lost sight of the two. Later on one of the vehicles was stopped by the Wisconsin State Patrol in Eau Claire County. Laine Shipman, 24, Chippewa Falls, was cited for speeding and then released. An investigation found that the other driver was in Buffalo County where he was later taken into custody. Officials say that Steven Parks, 28, Durand, was charged with knowingly fleeing an officer, speeding, operating a vehicle after suspension, second-degree recklessly endangering the safety of others and operation of a vehicle without required lamps lighted. State court records show that Parks has numerous traffic violations. After being taken into custody, Parks was taken to the Dunn County Jail in Menomonie. Published 14:54 Nov-05-08 | TOP |
