• Expo focuses on veteran benefits, jobs

Military veterans, families of military veterans and loved ones of deployed soldiers: Check out the Supermarket of Veterans Benefits and Job Fair at the Eau Claire County Exposition Center, 5530 Fairview Drive, from noon to 7 p.m. today, June 4, and 8 a.m. to noon, June 5.

The event aims at helping veterans get information about benefits and employment opportunities.

Billed as a "one-stop shop," the event will offer information about programs and state and federal resources including loans, education benefits, health care, long-term care, compensation and pension, veterans assistance programs, aging services, funeral honors, burial in state veterans' cemeteries and more.

Attendees can also meet with potential employers about job opportunities. If veterans need help obtaining military records or medals, the supermarket will include the chance to get them.
