In a posting on the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Friday it was announced that Robin Manufacturing, 1201 Industrial St. in Hudson is closing.
Robin Manufacturing U.S.A., Inc. (RMI) is an engine manufacturing plant and is a joint venture between Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. (FHI) and Polaris Industries, Inc. RMI was started in 1995. The closing affects 29 workers at the Hudson plant. Layoffs begin in March and will continue through July 31.
City of Hudson Community Development Director Dennis Darnold said the building is approximately 55,000 square feet. He speculated that the closing of the Polaris plant in Osceola, that was announced last year, probably led to the closing of the Robin facility in Hudson.
