Todd Franck, a 1985 Hudson high School graduate, was recently invited to attend a session of the United Nations in New York City by Ernest Bai Koroma, president of Sierra Leone in West Africa.

Franck, whose business is based in Hudson, has been a licensed exporter for more than three years in the mineral rich country of Sierra Leone. He is one of only a few Americans in the entire country personally buying and exporting rough diamonds from West and Central Africa.

Based on a life-threatening experience early on in his venture, Franck has persisted to gain a foothold in an industry heavily dominated by the Lebanese, Indians and Jewish Community. His philanthropic activities in Sierra Leone have brought him much attention and have contributed greatly to his ongoing safety and relative ease of continued operations.

Franck has recently penned his business venture into a reality TV/movie/documentary idea and submitted it to the Writers Guild of America. An agent in Hollywood is currently representing Franck and shopping the concept for potential interest.
