  • When Roger and Lara Anderson, town of River Falls, prepared to leave for work Wednesday morning, they couldn’t. Heavy rains had washed out their end of 747th Street, the town road that leads to their house. Roger said runoff water had filled their pond, flowed over into a spillway and took out a culvert. The Andersons called the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, which in turn called town workers. Roger Anderson said a town worker had their road ready for use within three hours of the time he called. In the meantime, he said, the Andersons had borrowed a truck to get Lara to her job.
