In the battle for New Richmond mayor, incumbent Fred Horne had 779 votes to former mayor David Schnitzler's 544. In the St. Croix County wide referendum related to the use of tax levy dollars to continue supporting the county-owned nursing home in New Richmond, voters again overwhelmingly voted yes. The vote total was 11,050 yes and 6,444 no.
