Roggensack decided, without explanation, to rule on the case. She cast a critical vote to spare two men represented by her former attorney, Donald Schott, from paying a $6.5 million judgment.

State Supreme Court considers ruling on voter ID law

It's now up to the Wisconsin Supreme Court to decide whether the state's controversial voter ID law is constitutional. A spokeswoman for the Department of Justice that is defending the law says the court could rule by the end of the week and require voters to show photo ID's before voting in next Tuesday's election.
