Most college students from the Upper Midwest would jump at the chance to go to balmy Jamaica in January. Eight of them from UW-Stout did just that, but it wasn’t because of the warm weather and picturesque beaches on the Caribbean island south of Cuba.

J.B.Van Hollen says he’ll seek to delay any action to restore public union rights as a result of Friday's ruling by a Dane County judge that Wisconsin's sweeping law limiting collective bargaining rights violated unions’ rights to free speech and association and it violates constitutional clauses for equal protection. Also, a receiver has taken over a pre-paid funeral fund which had been sold by 500 funeral homes statewide. Plus more state briefs.
