Symphony orchestra organizes; new members welcome
Area musicians are invited to join the St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra, a UW-River Falls-sponsored opportunity for adults and students. The orchestra begins rehearsals 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 in William Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts Building at UW-RF.

May 'Valley Dashboard' shows region's unemployment lower than nation's

New Richmond Mayor Fred Horne returned; Hammond board contestants tie, more results
In the battle for New Richmond mayor, incumbent Fred Horne had 779 votes to former mayor David Schnitzler's 544. In the St. Croix County wide referendum related to the use of tax levy dollars to continue supporting the county-owned nursing home in New Richmond, voters again overwhelmingly voted yes. The vote total was 11,050 yes and 6,444 no.
