At the Journal, we speak your language. The River Falls Journal has a history that spans nearly as long as the city that it serves.
Today it continues to be the area's dominant information provider via its weekly paid publication, weekend shopper, its web site www.riverfallsjournal.com and a group web site fed primarily by five area newspapers www.rivertowns.net.
Brothers Lute and Horace Taylor started the Journal in 1857. In 1862, the Journal was moved to Prescott where it published for the next 15 years.
In 1872, ownership transferred to A. Morse & Son and the newspaper returned to River Falls. Randall Morse continued as editor until his death in 1911. Son Stan Morse took over and continued until its sale to Clarence E. White in 1927.
In 1945, several businessmen bought stock in a corporation formed by White and C.E. Chubb became editor. He continued until George M. Kremer bought the newspaper in 1957. Kremer se
