Man beaten, run over at Pudge's Bar Sunday

An early morning scuffle Sunday at Pudge's Bar, 302 Second St. in downtown Hudson, sent a White Bear Lake man to the hospital after he was beaten then run over by a car, and resulted in the arrest of a River Falls man and Lakeland woman.

Rich Jansen honored at retirement party Sunday

Rich Jansen Retiring North Hudson Police Chief Rich Jansen was honored at an open house Sunday afternoon at the Village Hall. Jansen has been a member of the department since 1967, chief since 1980. Jansen's official retirement day is June 30. Among those present at the open house were family members, from left, daughter Carol Torning of Lakeland Shores, Minn., Jansen, wife Joan and son David of Littleton Colo.

Ancient fault lines exist near Hudson

Earthquakes are not disasters normally considered by the residents of St. Croix County. Blizzards, tornadoes and thunderstorms rate at the top of the natural catastrophe list. But there is evidence of an ancient major fault line south of Hudson that extends toward Willow River State Park, according to studies and student observations at UW-RF.

Gunderson alleges he found a meth lab in Sandbar; former bar employee denies claim

Thor Gunderson testified in St. Croix County Circuit Court Friday that he found the components for a methamphetamine lab in the basement of the former Sandbar when he purchased the building in January.

Booster Days set July 1-5

The annual Booster Days celebration in Hudson begins Thursday, July 1 with a free concert by the Minnesota Orchestra and ends Monday, July 5 with fireworks over the St. Croix River.

Outstanding Booster is '99 grand marshal

Joe Starkey Joe Starkey has been a Booster Club member for 12 years and has been a valuable contributor to the causes of the club. Starkey will ride in the parade as the grand marshal this year.

Joe Starkey has been selected by the members of the Booster Club for a "grand" role in this year's Booster Days Parade. Starkey, a resident of Hudson for 21 years, will be the grand marshal of the parade.

Theater wars may be the next big movie event in Hudson with 25 screens planned
