Young woman hockey player is nice, but demeanor changes when she's on the ice
If you look at Stephanie Millar, there's a side of her that isn't obvious from the outside. Her short, dark hair and glowing face show her age of 17. She has a sweet demeanor and somewhat quiet tone to her voice. But in her element, on the ice, she is an aggressive hockey player for the Minnesota Thoroughbreds. Women's ice hockey is gaining popularity, but Millar has been playing hockey for 12 years, before it was a trend.



Legion wins four games, tops Chippewa Falls 3-2
The Hudson American Legion team won four recent games, including a doubleheader win over Ladysmith Saturday and a big win over Chippewa Falls July 6.



Antlerless deer hunting permit deadline is July 20
Hunters have until July 20 to apply for hunter's choice and bonus antlerless deer permits for the 1999 Wisconsin deer hunting seasons.



Rod and Gun schedules classes
Young people in the Hudson area interested in hunting and recreational shooting are invited to enroll in a certified Wisconsin Hunter Education course at the Hudson Rod and Gun Club.
