Man threatens to jump from bridge

Dennis Moriarty of the Washington County, Minn., Sheriff's Department persuades a 31-year-old St. Paul man not to jump off the Interstate 94 bridge over the St. Croix River Saturday afternoon. Moriarty is nearest to the man standing on the railing. With him is another member of the Washington County Sheriff's Department and a Woodbury police officer.

Traffic on Interstate 94 slowed to a crawl for two hours in the sweltering heat Saturday afternoon while police persuaded a man not to jump off the St. Croix River bridge.

City buys parkland with a view from Mathy Construction

The city of Hudson has cut a deal with Mathy Construction Co. to buy 14 acres of property at the northwest corner of Hanley and O'Neil roads, according to Parks Director Dan Roeglin.
