Pepper Fest Court continues winning ways
The 1999 North Hudson Pepper Fest Court, Melinda Gullixson, Ed Nelson, Jamie Jo Page, Carlie Andrews and Jennipher O'Meara are shown winning second place on July 18 at the Hopkins Raspberry Festival. July 25 the court won first place at Elmwood UFO Days and on August 8 they won the Ambassador's Queen Award at River City Days in Red Wing. This year they have participated in 30 parades; their final parade appearance will be Saturday in the Pepper Fest Parade. Their reign will come to an end Sunday afternoon when the new court is scheduled to be selected.

Police find getaway truck, but the bank robber escapes
The man who robbed the F & M Bank on Coulee Road last week matches the description of the holdup man in half a dozen other bank robberies in the Twin Cities area, according to Hudson Police Sgt. Robert Staebell.

The annual North Hudson Pepper Festival is Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Pepper Fest Park near the North Hudson Village Hall.



Senate committee meets in Hudson
The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Environmental Resources and Campaign Finance Reform met at Hudson City Hall Tuesday for a public hearing on campaign finance reform.
