Break ground for new facility
Mama Maria's Italian Restaurant in North Hudson will sport a new building this fall. Ground was broken Thursday for a new restaurant just north of the current location. The restaurant is currently at 708 Sixth St. N., near Tom Thumb. The new location will be just south of The RiverBank, 880 Sixth St. N. Present at the ground breaking were, from left, RiverBank President Kevin Blinsmon, Mama Maria's owner, Gary Lamers, his wife, Kimberly Lamers, their son, Alex Lamers and Tim Harriman, field superintendent for KM Building Co. of Minneapolis. Lamers said the new structure should be completed about Dec. 1. It will be 6,000 square feet, twice the size of the current restaurant.
