Raiders lose opener after holding second-half lead
The Hudson Raider football team opened the 1999 season dropping a tough 15-12 decision to the New Richmond Tigers in Big Rivers Conference play.



Health Foundation fund-raiser draws 183 golfing participants
A total of 183 golfers took part in the 18th annual Al and Laurie Hein Memorial Golf Tournament Aug. 23, just one fewer than the record participation set last year. The event raised several thousand dollars to benefit Hudson Medical Center and community health programs. About 267 prime rib dinners were served to the golfers and volunteers who help with the event, which is sponsored each year by the Hudson Memorial Health Foundation.



Raider girls finish sixth at La Crosse
The Hudson High School girls' golf team finished sixth in an eight-team tournament last Tuesday at La Crosse and third in a four-team non-conference match at home Monday.



Raiders sweep four-team tennis match at River Falls
The Hudson Raiders girls tennis team beat three more teams last week, while dropping a match to defending state runner-up Eau Claire Memorial.



Soccer team beats all comers
The Raider boys soccer team used a 5-0 blowout of Shawano and defensive play that allowed only one goal in three games to win the eight-team Wausau West Invitational.
