Raider girls finish sixth at La Crosse
The Hudson High School girls' golf team finished sixth in an eight-team tournament last Tuesday at La Crosse and third in a four-team non-conference match at home Monday.Eau Claire North, behind the play of medallist Melinda Johnson who carded an 18-hole score of 74, won the La Crosse event with 361 team strokes. The Raiders had 421. Captain Kirstin Popowski paced the Raiders with 95 followed by Cari Nelson 108, Kathleen Davis 106, Annie Nelson 112, Christy Johnson 116 and Emily Wenzel 133. Popowski won medallist honors Monday. She shot 42 on the par-35 course at the Hudson Country Club's nine-hole event, which included teams from Ellsworth, Amery and Eau Claire North. Davis carded 49, Annie Nelson 54, Cari Nelson 55 and Johnson 55. The Raider girls were scheduled to play in three matches this week including a contest at River Falls Wednesday, at Eau Claire North Thursday and at Amery Friday.

Aug. 30 at Hudson Team Scores: 1- Eau Claire North 187, 2- Amery 193, 3-Hudson 200, 4- Ellsworth 203.
