Soccer team beats all comers
The Raider boys soccer team used a 5-0 blowout of Shawano and defensive play that allowed only one goal in three games to win the eight-team Wausau West Invitational.After the Shawano game, Hudson beat Wausau East 2-0. In the finals, Wausau East got on the board first, but the Raiders poured it on to win 3-1. Hudson Coach Steve Sollom called it the only close match of the day. Jeremy Cook paced the Raiders with four goals, and Mark Krstich tallied two. Riley Wilson had three assists and Bjorn Dixon two. Greg Applewhite recorded two shutouts in the net, and Pat Kaul, Steve Kruger, Brent Erkkila, Jason Wahlberg, Matt Milder and Brooks Lockwood anchored a solid defense. Hudson was scheduled to host Eau Claire Memorial, which is fast becoming a Big Rivers Conference rival, on Tuesday. The team travels to Apple Valley, Minn., on Friday.
