Olsen accepted into medical program
Jared Olsen, the son of Carl and Betty Olsen, has been accepted into the Medical Scholars Program at UW-Madison. The program provides conditional admission to the University of Wisconsin Medical School for highly qualified high school seniors and eases the transition from undergraduate to medical school education.
Klein, Olsen are Kohl scholarship winners
MADISON - Hudson High School seniors Peter Klein and Jared Olsen were among 200 students and 100 teachers statewide to win 1999 Herb Kohl Foundation awards of $1,000 each.
Young Authors conference held
The St. Croix Valley Reading Council held a Young Authors conference at the Hudson Middle School Saturday, April 17. The conference involved students in grades one-eight, parents and teachers. Children's author Shelley Gill from Alaska shared her experiences and autographed books, and the Stagedoor Players from New Richmond also performed.

Music students compete at festival
On Saturday, April 10, over 100 choir, band and piano students from Hudson Middle School participated in the district solo/ensemble festival at Baldwin High School. The festival gives students the opportunity to perform selected music in front of a state-qualified music judge who provides written and oral critiques and a rating of I, II, III, IV or V (I being the highest).
