Vet's event is Nov. 11

The annual Veteran's Day observance is scheduled Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in front the St. Croix County Government Center.

The ceremony will include a message from St. Croix County Sheriff Dennis Hillstead, a Vietnam veteran. Also on the agenda is the Hudson High School Band and a 21-gun salute from an honor guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion members. Bob Penman is the master of ceremonies.

In the afternoon, a select group of veterans will talk with Hudson High School students in the school's auditorium. Gordon Knudson is American Legion commander; Don Gilbertson is commander of VFW Post 2115.
