Suspected overdose lands HHS student in hospital
A freshman boy suspected of suffering a drug overdose was taken from Hudson High School to the hospital by ambulance Friday morning.
Fire ravages Houlton home
A homemade log house that symbolized some 16 years of work went up in flames last Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters from four communities responded to the blaze at about 3 p.m. at the Michael Johnson residence on 130 County Road E, just east of the Houlton Elementary School in St. Joseph Township.
Friday crash sends five to the hospital
Four Hudson High School students involved in a crash at Exit 4 on Interstate 94 were back in classes Monday morning.
Santa arrives here Friday night
Hudson officially lights up for the season Friday with the annual Light Up Night celebration. Expanded to include Hudson's beautiful Lakefront Park, the fun begins with Santa's estimated time of arrival at 7 p.m. Santa is usually spotted first around Third and Vine streets. He then moves down Second Street to Walnut and winds down into Lakefront Park, where trees will be lit to turn it officially into "Christmas Park" for the season.
County plan aims to manage growth, but not stop it
The first goal of a proposed St. Croix County Development Plan is to protect the county's rural character, but there's plenty of flexibility for the development that will probably come in the next 20 years, said County Planner Ellen Denzer.
Thanksgiving is special holiday for Radlinger family this year
The Thanksgiving holiday was made to order this year for the Joe Radlinger family of Tower Road. While every year usually contains things to be thankful for, this year the family feels a bounty they have never known before.
