Travel agency merges with Woodbury firm
Travel By Nelson American Express, a longtime Woodbury travel agency, announced that it has purchased St. Croix Classic Travel. Sheree Powers and Kelly Gervais, who purchased an ownership interest in Travel By Nelson, finalized the purchase Nov. 1 and have begun the process of merging operations.

Johnson completes three years of service on board of directors
Former Hudsonite Jill Johnson, owner and founder of Johnson Consulting Services, a Minneapolis-based management consulting firm, has completed three years of service on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. Previous to her service on the board, Johnson was a two-term chair of the organization's Small Business Policy Council. Johnson, an award-winning consultant, is a recognized leader in the Minnesota business community.
Weather system OK'd at NR airport
A $99,500 project to install an Automated Weather Observation System at the New Richmond Municipal Airport has been given the go-ahead by Gov. Tommy Thompson. The new weather system will provide pilots with essential weather information, including wind speed and direction, temperature, visibility and cloud height.
