Girls take first
The Hudson Basketball Association eighth-grade girls A team recently took first at a tournament in New Richmond and third in a tournament in Bloomington, Minn. Local students invest well in stock exercise
A team of four students from Hudson Middle School finished third in the Junior Division in the Northwest Region of Wisconsin in the fall semester competition of the Stock Market Game. Starting with an imaginary $100,000 they built their stock portfolio to a total of $168,340 in the 10-week competition. The team consisted of Jenny Stump, Adele Dimian, Jessica Jara and Markee Kapaun. The team was advised by teachers Jerad Ducklow and Pat Thoreson. They will be recognized at a banquet for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams in the Northwest Region on January 25 in Rice Lake. A team from South Shore Junior High School finished 1st in the region with a portfolio valued at $309,814. Second place in the region went to a team from South Shore Junior High School with a portfolio of $274,319.

Raiders win conference game; remain unbeaten in WHC
In a battle of the two unbeaten teams in the Western Hockey Conference, the Hudson High School girls varsity hockey team came out on top, 5-1, in a game played at Onalaska.
