Rollover claims Weyerhaeuser man

A fatal rollover accident on I-94 State troopers and sheriff's deputies gather debris thrown from a late-model Dodge truck when it rolled into the I-94 median Friday morning. The 60-year-old driver was thrown from the vehicle on impact. He was pronounced dead a short time later at Hudson Medical Center.

A single pickup truck rollover at 8:55 a.m. Friday claimed the life of a 60-year-old Weyerhaeuser area man.

Judge rules city can't fight casino

The city of Hudson will appeal a judge's ruling that the city lost its right to oppose a proposed casino when it agreed to accept payments from the Indian tribes that want to open it.

First 1999 baby born in Hudson New Year's baby arrives late, early

Born at 2:06 a.m. Jan. 12, little Kyla Schewe was two weeks early, according to her mom, Stephanie. As Hudson Medical Center's first baby of the New Year, she was almost two weeks late. Kyla weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 18 3/4 inches long. Grandparents are Gwen and Scott Schewe, Hudson. Great-grandparents are Howard and Lee Schewe of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Adeline Miller of Alexandria, Minn.

Man critically injured in pool

A Hopkins, Minn., man was injured early Sunday morning as the result of a diving accident at the Super 8 Motel pool. Gheorghe Codoreanu was transported to Hudson Medical Center at 1:15 a.m. and transferred to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Codoreanu remained in critical condition at press time on Tuesday afternoon.
