Strip club opens, raises citizen's ire
The Sandbar, 609 Second St., closed Thursday night. Citizens and government officials were surprised and shocked when a strip club opened at the site Monday night. If it remains, the facility is sure to generate a sea of controversy in the community.

The Sandbar closed its doors last Thursday, but only four days later they were reopened by a new owner for "gentlemen's club" patrons.

Andrews claims there is local support for a casino in Hudson
Casino representative Morris Andrews spoke to local Rotarians Thursday noon and said there is local support for a casino at the St. Croix Meadows dog track.

Olson is having a dream season with Super Bowl-bound Atlanta Falcons
Mark Olson, a Hudson High School graduate, now works with the Atlanta Falcons. He will travel with the team to Miami and Super Bowl XXXIII on Jan. 31. He was in Minneapolis this past weekend as Atlanta defeated the Minnesota Vikings 30-27. He is the son of Carol and Maynard Olson of North Hudson.

WTA average shows local teachers' pay is lowest in the area
Hudson, like many other districts in the state, saw teacher salaries increase more than the salary cap. It wasn't, however, enough to bring Hudson teacher salaries in line with area schools. As a result, Hudson's average teacher is among the lowest paid in the area.
