230 pounds of marijuana nabbed in St. Joe bust

A drug bust in the town of St. Joseph on Jan. 22, which involved St. Croix County, federal and Minnesota law enforcement personnel, resulted in the seizure of more than 230 pounds of marijuana from the back of a pickup truck.

Council studying ordinances to send dance club packing

The Hudson City Council introduced four proposed ordinances and one resolution Monday night that would shut down the new nude dancing establishment on Second Street.

The return of robins marks the end of winter ;-) They're back

In the three years since Bonnie and Jim Brande moved into their North Hudson home, the return of the robins has marked the end of winter. This year the birds arrived a full two months in advance. Brande called to say hundreds of robins were helping themselves to a meal of crab apples off a tree in her front yard. They spend a week feasting on the sometimes fermented fruit, at times getting tipsy in the process. Then the tree is bare, and the birds move on.

Local man accused of trying to pass fake bills

A Hudson man has been charged with three counts involving forging documents after allegedly trying to pay for drinks at Pudge's Bar with two counterfeit $20 bills.

No charges, but Stacy won't head boot camp

The Department of Corrections said Peter Stacy won't be disciplined or demoted, but ruled Friday in Eau Claire that the removal of Peter Stacy as director of the boot camp in New Richmond will be permanent.

Hoarfrost covered everything in the Hudson area... Lovely morning

Hoarfrost covered everything in the Hudson area Saturday morning. When the sun broke through the clouds everything sported a bright white covering, including these trees just north of the Middle School. Hoarfrost formed when moisture from Friday night's fog froze on most every surface.
