Bomb scares at Hudson High School have cost the district at least $64,000 this year.

Drew Corbett explained the significance of Civil War insignias to a visitor Thursday evening during the public open house of "Camp Houlton." Corbett is one of 38 fifth-grade students who made displays for the event. Houlton fifth-graders camped outside with members of the River Valley Rangers Civil War Re-enactors Thursday evening. Friday all of the fifth-grade students in the district joined them to learn more about the Civil War and participate in drills and visit exhibits.

Nash will sell local Erickson office building

A Nash Finch spokesman said Monday the company will sell the Erickson Diversified office building it purchased last week as part of the Erickson Diversified sale.

Erickson Oil not part of sale

Dave Erickson and Claire Erickson of Hudson based-Erickson Oil Products Inc. said the oil stations are not part of the deal involving Erickson Diversified and Nash Finch.

Police sort stabbing details

A stabbing may have occurred in a room in the Dibbo Hotel early Saturday morning, but the individuals involved were so intoxicated police don't know for sure what happened.

Village hires new police chief

The village of North Hudson hired Brian Aichele to replace Police Chief Rich Jansen, who is retiring this summer.

Retiring Hudson School District employees Retirees

Hudson School District employees who are retiring this year were among those honored at a recognition banquet Monday night. The retirees include, front from left, Gerald Heikkila, 31 years, Norma Newberg, 22 1/2 years, and Larry Parfitt, 28 years; back, Nancy Mielke, 28 1/2 years, and Gladys Sande, 30 years. Board approves senior housing rezoning

With a new board came a new decision. The North Hudson Village Board reversed a decision made last month and approved the rezoning of land on the north shore of Lake Mallalieu for the construction of a 40-unit senior housing unit.
