Medical partnership formalized, land purchase for new hospital announced

Hudson Medical Center, Western Wisconsin Medical Associates and HealthPartners have formalized a contract between Hudson Medical Center and Regions Hospital in St. Paul. In a related development, the new group announced the purchase of 17 acres of land, located at I-94 and Carmichael Road and designated for the construction of a future new hospital and healthcare campus.

The true observance of Memorial Day may have lost its meaning over the past three decades, says Gordon Knudson, commander of the American Legion Otis H. King Post No. 50 in Hudson. In 1971 a federal law selected the last Monday in May as the time to observe Memorial Day. From shortly after the Civil War until 1971 Memorial Day was always on May 30.

Ordinance doesn't ban nude dancing, city attorney says

City Attorney Bill Radosevich says an ordinance passed May 17 by the Hudson City Council does not ban totally nude dancing at Centerfolds Cabaret, as reported last week in the Star-Observer.
