Kelly's 'Cedar Hill Greenhouses' reopens
Cedar Hill Greenhouses is opening Saturday, April 22, at W10003 Hwy. 29. Bill Kelly is the owner.Kelly ended his first season there last June and is reopening this weekend. The greenhouse specializes in annual and perennial bedding plants. It is situated on Kelly's 60-acre family farm where vegetables, including onions, sweet corn, asparagus, pea pods, pumpkins, broccoli, cauliflower and potatoes are also grown. Available at the greenhouse are hanging baskets, patio pots, garden plants and herbs. "I can sell anything that I raise right here," Kelly said. Some of Kelly's land is rented out to seed companies and the nearby Have-a-Heart Farm has rented land to Kelly. In exchange he has planted a garden and done chores there. The garden has been used as an education tool for children who spend time on the farm. The business is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located a little over a mile southwest of River Falls on Hwy. 29.
