Arrests, citations

Vernon L. Young, 37, N6439 790th St., Beldenville, for drunk driving Friday at 11 p.m. on E. Division Street by Hoffman Park. Young was first stopped for allegedly weaving and going through a stop sign at the bypass exit. He was given a $681.50 fine.

Adam D. Cleveland, 24, Spring Valley, for carrying a concealed weapon, speeding, and driving without a valid license (2nd offense), Saturday afternoon on the Hwy. 65 bypass just south of Quarry Road. The weapon turned out to be a butterfly knife. Cleveland was given three fines totaling more than $600.

Caleb C. Swenson, 18, 305 May Hall at UW-RF, for shoplifting at ShopKo Sunday last week Monday afternoon. Swenson was arrested for allegedly switching price tags to ring up a lower price for a Star Trek computer game. He was given a $157 fine.

Jeremy L. Anderson, 18, and Ryan J. Kloth, 17, both from Medford, for shoplifting from ShopKo last week Wednesday night. Each was arrested for stealing a musical CD, and each was given a $157 fine.

A 16-year-old St. Paul girl for damage to property Saturday at 2:15 a.m. at the Michelle R. Tschida house, 432 Griffey St. The girl, in the neighborhood visiting her River Falls boyfriend, allegedly tossed a beer bottle that shattered a front storm-door window. Besides a $64.75 fine, the girl will be asked to provide $50 restitution for the damaged door.

Theft

Of a CD player from a car belonging to Tara J. Clements, 227 S. Fourth St., while parked at that address last week Monday. A passenger-side window was smashed and the CD system inside removed. Loss, not including the vandalism, is $350.

Of a CD player from a car belonging to Aaron Derr, 221 N. Fourth St., while parked at that address last week Monday. A passenger-side window was broken and the CD system inside taken. Loss, not including the vandalism, is $250.

Of a 24-karat gold necklace, two stereo speakers, an acoustic punch amplifier, and 25 musical CDs in a black case from a car belonging to Xeng Seng Moua, 124 May Hall at UW-RF, while parked at 203 S. Fifth St., between April 11 and 12. A driver's-side window was smashed. Loss and damage exceeds $ 1,000.

Of a cell phone from an unlocked car belonging to Brent C. Ducklow, 25, 202 1/2 S. Sixth St., while parked in the 200 block of S. Sixth Street April 11 or 12. Loss, $230.

Of a CD stereo from an unlocked car belonging to Michelle A. Holter, 26, 202 S. Sixth St., while parked in the 200 block of S. Sixth Street April 11 or 12. The dome light of Holter's car was also ripped out. Loss and damage, $270.

Vandalism

To a car parked in the university's E Lot early last week. The car, belonging to Andrea J. Caudill, 330 Stratton Hall, appeared to have been dented by kicks and also scratched in numerous places. Damage, $1,500.

To a car parked at ShopKo's lot last week Tuesday afternoon. The car, belonging to Patricia L. Turner, Spring Valley, was dented in the spots on the left front side. No damage estimate.

Accidents

APRIL 13 - 10:10 a.m., John W. Linehan, 23, 210 Falls St., was hit from behind by truck driver Clifton J. Herman, 43, Menomonie, who was trying to maneuver around Linehan with his extended load in the 300 block of S. Main Street. Herman works for Pember Excavations.

APRIL 14 - 2:50 p.m., between Charles D. Larson, 16, 753 Lumphrey Ct., and Kristen A. Zielski, 17, N7951 980th St., at S. Main and Park streets. APRIL 16 -1:05 p.m., between Brian S. Weiss, 39, 967 E. Hazel St., and Eric A. Page, 18, 430 Crescent St., at Hazel and Ninth streets.
