Vote tied to Cemetery Rd.

TO THE EDITOR:

Last year I attended the school board meeting in which the board voted to propose building a new high school on the Cemetery Road site.

During the debate, the virtues of both the Mann Valley and Cemetery Road properties were discussed. One of the main reasons that the Cemetery site was chosen was that the board did not believe that the school referendum would pass given the organized resistance to the Mann Valley site.

The decision was wise, as the resultant vote, based on the announced Cemetery Road site, passed with a small majority.

Now the board has scheduled a vote to choose between the two sites. If the Mann Valley site is chosen, will the board schedule another referendum for those of us who based out votes on the property exchange?

Fundamental fairness would dictate that it would.
