Who were those masked men?
Five young men streaked naked across the campus in front of the UW-River Falls Hagestad Student Center last Thursday noon. The well-staged event drew hundreds of eagerly awaiting students and other curious onlookers, not to mention a visible presence of UW-RF Public Safety and River Falls police officers. The streakers, in masks and backpacks stuffed with clothing, took pledges in advance from students and citizens, and claimed to have raised $600 from nearly 300 pledgers. The money will be used to buy flowers for the area’s elderly. One streaker wore a Darth Vader mask and waved a Star Wars “Light Saber” as he charged through the crowd. Lower left, Sgt. Bill Rasmussen takes photos as evidence. Public Safety Director Priscilla Stevens said it was impossible to identify the masked streakers, so no arrests were made.
