Employment dialog is Dec. 1
Area employers, job seekers, educators, government officials, community leaders, and the public are invited to attend a dialog on "Shaping the Future for Employment and Workforce Development in Pierce County." It will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 8-10 a.m., at Chippewa Valley Technical College-River Falls campus.The West Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board is hosting this event as one of a series of dialog sessions on employment and workforce development issues conducted throughout its 9-county area. The event will be held in conjunction with area business and economic development organizations including the Pierce County Economic Development Corporation, St. Croix Valley Employers Association, Chambers of Commerce from Ellsworth, Prescott, River Falls, and Spring Valley, the Chippewa Valley Technical College, and the Pierce County Job Center. This 2-hour session is intended to identify needs and issues related to employment and workforce development, examine the resources and community assets available to address these needs, and develop strategies to assist individuals, employers and communities to meet these challenges. The Workforce Development Board is a business-lead organization appointed by the county boards of nine West Central Wisconsin counties. Formerly known as the Private Industry Council, the board provides strategic planning for workforce development and employment issues and oversees the area's Job Center system.
