River Falls, especially its people, have much to offer

TO THE EDITOR:

I must admit, when I moved to River Falls two years ago, I thought I was moving to a town that had less to offer. A smaller university, no YMCA, not a lot of choice shopping, and a smaller population were some of the factors which seemed to make it less appealing to me.

Happy to say, my view has changed for the better. As someone who has become involved in the community and schools, I've met so many wonderful and generous adults and kids doing great things for the community.

A recent Halloween event held at Have-A-Heart farm, which was hosted by myself and the Hudson Area Jaycees, demonstrated how when a bunch of people work together, great things do happen.

Several area businesses and many individual volunteers donated time and money to fund the event. Thanks to All!

I am glad that we have chosen this town to raise our children, and although I like the idea of some development (like a YMCA), I sure hope River Falls remains a true small town always.
