The gift-giving season is upon us and what's better to give than a book? For one thing, the price is right, unless you're the sort of person who sends the nephew a Lamborghini. Also, there's nothing easier to wrap than a book. And, finally, with 50,000 new books printed in the U.S. every year, the choice is wide.
Days Gone By
An Eau Claire man was nabbed for masquerading as a game warden just south of the city limits. According to police reports, the man was using an oscillating red light on his maroon station wagon to stop other vehicles and then questioned occupants and nearby hunters about their activities. When police arrived, the man was sitting in his car, surrounded by orange-clad hunters.
